Chhath puja-festival of god 'Sun'



Chhath puja is an indian festival celebrated in all regions of india,
mainly celebrated in bihar,jharkhand,uttar pradesh,west bengal,
Chhatishgarh,Madhya pradesh,Mumbai,Delhi,nepal etc.

It is celebrated of six days after the festival of lights known as Diwali.
The word chhath denotes to the number six in hindi and the 
festival celebrated on the sixth day of kartik month according
to hindu calender.

Chhath puja celebrated by hindus dedicated to the god 'Sun' or 'Surya'.
 The festival takes place, on the banks of the River Ganges, in people's
 homes and at the Sun Temple of Baragaon in Bihar.It takes place
during the month of october and november.







Chhath puja is performed for thanking surya for sustaining life on
 earth and for granting their wishes.Chhath Puja mainly elaorated
 for its impressive display of colorful costumes, music, singing and
 extravagant rituals.



The sun considerd as the source of energy and the force in our lives
to progress with full of energy and to keep them away from various
types of diseases and for the well being of their family members.

It lasts for almost three days.Their is also a chaiti chhath celebrated
just after holi.Chhath being mainly celebrated by biharis from bihar
people migrated this festival to all over india.
